6th Roundtable Meeting on ASEAN Plus Three Food Security Cooperation Strategy held in Nanning

The 6th Roundtable Meeting on ASEAN Plus Three Food Security Cooperation Strategy was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Sept. 19, 2015. Mr. Wei Chao''an, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
The theme of the Roundtable Meeting was reducing food losses and optimizing food value chain. The event aimed at intensifying management along the value chain including production, purchase, storage, transportation, processing and consumption to reduce losses and wastes effectively.Participants discussed and exchanged experience and practices on increasing food productivity with agricultural S&T, optimizing food value chain and reducing losses. Representatives from agribusinesses shared experience on agricultural investment and development in ASEAN countries and presented key joint projects at the event.
Participants to the Roundtable Meeting include representatives from nine ASEAN countries, World Food Programme China office, the Secretariat of ASEAN+3 Emergency Rice Reserve and domestic officials from agricultural authorities of seven provinces and representatives from agribusinesses.
